Job Description:

Solo law practice seeks a part-time Marketing and Office Manager.  The Law Office of Amira Hasenbush provides legal services in family formation, including adoption and assisted reproduction, with a focus on LGBT and diverse families.  The office is seeking to hire its first part-time employee, who would be the firm's Marketing and Office Manager with room for growth.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The primary goal of the Marketing and Office Manager will be to increase revenue while maintaining low overhead and implementing systems that keep operations running smoothly. 

  • The Marketing and Office Manager will, in coordination with Amira, formulate and direct the business’s overall operations to increase its visibility, productivity and sales by planning and executing marketing strategies in line with the brand pillars and ethics of the business. 

    • Increases leads to the firm from potential clients who are seeking the kinds of services that the law office provides and sets up introductory consults with Amira.

    • Actively seeks business development opportunities and speaking engagements to increase the office’s recognition among communities that are likely to seek services from the firm.

    • Generates ideas, develops and executes a daily social media calendar and posts on a variety of sites, including Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and Hootsuite.

    • Assists in production, editing, captioning, posting and promotion of educational videos.

    • Increases engagement in social media to increase potential leads to the firm.

    • Researches different paid media opportunities and makes recommendations for the highest impact investment of marketing dollars, based on the firm’s budget.

    • Follows and communicates with highly visible and respected news, magazines and other media outlets and drives opportunities for interviews and commentary to the firm.

  • This person will also help to streamline operations within the business and practice, so that the office is lean and nimble and able to take on more work with consistently high quality and low stress. 

    • Assists in formatting contracts and other legal products through mail merge or other software to make their production simpler, faster and consistently accurate.

    • Audits firm processes, including bookkeeping, scheduling and project management and provides recommendations on how to simplify procedures and reduce costs.

    • As time permits, handles bookkeeping and HR requirements for the firm.

  • A successful Marketing and Office Manager will assist in expanding the business so significantly that this part-time position will transition to a salaried position with benefits within its first year. 

Job Qualifications:

  • While a business or marketing degree would be preferred, candidates with different educational backgrounds are welcome to apply who can show relevant experience and transferrable skills. 

  • All candidates should have excellent English grammar and writing skills. 

  • Candidates with fluency in foreign languages, especially Spanish and/or Mandarin, are highly encouraged to apply. 

  • The candidate must have not just proficiency with, but a passion for social media in all of its forms. 

  • They should be extremely organized, detail-oriented and driven to find ways to make systems and processes easy, streamlined and efficient. 

  • They should be an excellent and reliable communicator, who is able to set and work within clear timelines and deadlines. 

  • The ideal candidate for this position is a dynamic self-starter who is a creative problem solver with a knack for organization and systems management. 

  • They are solutions-oriented and constantly striving for improvement and growth. 

  • They should also identify as a lifelong learner who enjoys picking up new skills and knowledge as necessary. 

  • The ideal candidate will not only be comfortable with diversity, but will thrive in working with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds. 

  • While not required, extra consideration will be given to candidates who also possess skills in website development, graphic design and/or SEO management. 

Compensation:

This position will begin with a 90-day trial period.  During that period, the position will be 10 hours per week at a pay of $25 per hour.  All work will be completed remotely for at least the first 90 days, though the ideal candidate will be based in the greater Los Angeles area.  At the end of 90 days, the position will be reevaluated based on the success of the candidate, at which point the hours and pay will be negotiable.  With the right candidate, the hours and/or pay will increase every 90 days until the Marketing and Office Manager holds a salaried position with full benefits.
